The County of Marin is hosting another public meeting where community members can learn about the proposed plans that would identify locations to construct 3,569 new housing units in unincorporated Marin County.
Join the County on Tuesday, March 29th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM for an interactive online workshop to discuss policy and program ideas to support the development of housing. This is the fourth in a series of workshops. There will be live Spanish interpretation.
The Housing Element addresses housing needs and barriers for the 2023-2031 period. In addition to identifying potential housing sites for development, the Housing Element also includes a section on goals, programs and policies that establish an action plan for the development of housing and affordable housing. This section must include meaningful actions that affirmatively further fair housing and address historical patterns of housing segregation.
Join the online meeting to voice your concerns and to share solutions and potential sites for selection in this process.
Remember, the total number of new housing units may not be reduced. An appeal from the County was denied in October 2021 to reduce the total number of houses.
